CARNOVAS HZ is indicated for:

Treatment of essential hypertension, particularly in patients requiring combination therapy.
Pharmacology
-
Nebivolol: A selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker that reduces heart rate and myocardial oxygen demand. It also promotes vasodilation by enhancing nitric oxide availability.

Hydrochlorothiazide: A thiazide diuretic that reduces blood pressure by promoting sodium and water excretion, decreasing plasma volume and vascular resistance.
Dosage and Administration

Typical dose: One tablet once daily.

Should be taken in the morning to avoid nocturnal urination.

Can be taken with or without food.
Interaction

Enhanced hypotensive effects with other antihypertensives, alcohol, or diuretics.

Risk of electrolyte imbalance with corticosteroids or laxatives.

Caution with drugs affecting potassium levels (e.g., ACE inhibitors, NSAIDs).
Contraindications

Severe hepatic or renal impairment.

Hypersensitivity to Nebivolol, Hydrochlorothiazide, or sulfonamide derivatives.

Severe bradycardia, cardiogenic shock, or heart block.
Side Effects
