AZMASOL 200 HFA Inhaler is indicated for:
Relief and prevention of bronchospasm in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Treatment of exercise-induced bronchospasm.
Acute management of wheezing and shortness of breath.
Pharmacology:
AZMASOL contains Salbutamol, a beta-2 adrenergic agonist:
Stimulates beta-2 adrenergic receptors in bronchial smooth muscle.
Relaxes airway muscles, leading to bronchodilation and improved airflow.
Acts rapidly within minutes, providing quick relief from breathing difficulties.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults and Children (over 12 years): 1–2 puffs as needed, up to 4 times daily.
Children (6–12 years): 1 puff as needed, up to 4 times daily.
Shake the inhaler well before use.
Interaction:
Concurrent use with beta-blockers may reduce the efficacy of Salbutamol.
Use with caution alongside other sympathomimetic drugs, as it may increase the risk of cardiovascular side effects.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Salbutamol or any excipient in the formulation.
Severe cardiac conditions like tachyarrhythmias.
Side Effects:
Common: Tremors, headache, increased heart rate, and nervousness.
Rare: Hypokalemia, paradoxical bronchospasm, or allergic reactions.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Pregnancy: Generally considered safe but should be used under medical supervision.
Lactation: Salbutamol is excreted in breast milk; use with caution.
Precautions & Warnings:
Avoid exceeding the recommended dose to prevent adverse effects.
Patients with heart disease, hypertension, or diabetes should consult a physician before use.
