Indications
IPRASOL HFA inhaler is indicated for relief and maintenance treatment of bronchospasm associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma.
Pharmacology
This inhaler combines a short-acting muscarinic antagonist (Ipratropium) and a short-acting beta-2 agonist (Salbutamol). Ipratropium blocks muscarinic receptors reducing bronchoconstriction, while Salbutamol relaxes airway smooth muscles by stimulating beta-2 receptors.
Dosage & Administration
Typically, 2 puffs inhaled via mouth every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Shake well before use. Use a spacer if prescribed.
Interaction
May interact with beta-blockers, other bronchodilators, and certain diuretics. Inform doctor about all medications.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Ipratropium, Salbutamol, or any components of the inhaler.
Side Effects
Possible side effects include dry mouth, throat irritation, cough, tremor, palpitations, and headache.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor. Consult before use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings
Not a rescue medication for acute asthma attacks; monitor heart rate in patients with cardiovascular disease.
