Pharmacology:
Etodolac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis responsible for pain and inflammation.
Dosage & Administration:
Typically 200-400 mg daily in divided doses or as prescribed by the physician. Taken orally with food to minimize gastric irritation.
Interaction:
May interact with anticoagulants, other NSAIDs, corticosteroids
Caution with antihypertensive drugs and lithium
Avoid concurrent use with alcohol
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Etodolac or other NSAIDs
History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic reactions related to NSAIDs
Active gastrointestinal bleeding or ulceration
Severe heart failure or renal impairment

Monitor for signs of GI bleeding or renal dysfunction
