Indications:
Pacet 200mg is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, otitis media, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and uncomplicated gonorrhea caused by susceptible strains of bacteria.
Pharmacology:
Pacet contains Cefixime, a third-generation oral cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), leading to cell lysis and death in susceptible bacteria.
Dosage:
Usually 200–400 mg daily in single or divided doses, depending on the type and severity of infection. Always follow physician's instructions.
Administration:
Take orally with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Avoid missing doses for maximum effectiveness.
Interaction:
May interact with anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin), carbamazepine, and certain live bacterial vaccines. Inform your doctor of all medications being taken.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics. Caution advised in patients with penicillin allergy.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, and rash. Rarely, allergic reactions or blood disorders may occur.

Use only if clearly needed and prescribed. Inform your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Prolonged use may lead to secondary infections. Renal function should be monitored in long-term therapy. Caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease.
