Indications:
Rostil 135mg is indicated for treatment of respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia), skin and soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections, and certain sexually transmitted infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
Pharmacology:
Contains Roxithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby preventing bacterial growth.
Dosage:
Adults: Usually one 135mg capsule twice daily or as prescribed by the physician.
Dosage may vary depending on infection severity.
Administration:
Take orally with or without food, preferably at the same time daily. Complete the full course of therapy to prevent resistance.
Interaction:
May interact with drugs like warfarin, cyclosporine, and theophylline. Inform your doctor about all medications.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Roxithromycin or other macrolide antibiotics.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include gastrointestinal upset, nausea, diarrhea, and rash. Rare allergic reactions may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Caution advised while breastfeeding.
