Indications
TURBOCEF 500MG is used to treat moderate to severe infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and soft tissue infections.
Pharmacology
Contains cefuroxime axetil, a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that disrupts bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death.
Dosage & Administration
Typically prescribed as 500mg twice daily for 7-14 days depending on infection severity. Should be taken with food for better absorption.
Interaction
May interact with antacids, blood thinners, and other antibiotics. Always inform your healthcare provider about concurrent medications.
Contraindications
Avoid use in patients allergic to cephalosporins or penicillin group antibiotics.
Side Effects
Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, and allergic skin reactions.
