Indications:
Omastin 50mg capsule is indicated for relief from mild allergic conditions such as allergic rhinitis, urticaria, and other skin allergies.
Pharmacology:
Contains cetirizine hydrochloride, a selective histamine H1 receptor antagonist that blocks histamine action to reduce allergy symptoms like itching and swelling.
Dosage:
Typically, 5 mg to 10 mg once daily or as prescribed by the physician, adjusted to patient’s needs.
Administration:
Can be taken with or without food. Consistency in timing is recommended for best results.
Interaction:
May interact with alcohol and CNS depressants, increasing sedation. Avoid combining without medical advice.
Contraindications:
Not recommended for patients allergic to cetirizine or other antihistamines. Use cautiously in renal impairment.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, and fatigue. Rarely dizziness or gastrointestinal discomfort may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
