Indications:
Onriva 150mg is indicated for treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria including respiratory tract infections, skin infections, and urinary tract infections.
Pharmacology:
Contains clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby preventing bacterial growth.
Dosage:
The usual adult dose is 250 mg to 500 mg twice daily depending on infection severity. For 150 mg dose, follow physician’s instructions carefully.
Administration:
Take orally with or without food. Complete the full prescribed course to prevent resistance.
Interaction:
May interact with drugs like statins, warfarin, and certain benzodiazepines. Inform your doctor about all medications before starting Onriva.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clarithromycin or other macrolides. Caution in liver or kidney impairment.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and taste disturbances. Rare allergic reactions may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician. Consult doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Monitor liver and kidney function during prolonged therapy. Inform physician if signs of allergic reaction or severe diarrhea appear.
