Indications:
ECOTRIM 10GM is indicated for the topical treatment of skin infections caused by dermatophytes, yeasts (e.g. Candida), and molds. Conditions include tinea corporis (ringworm), tinea cruris (jock itch), tinea pedis (athlete's foot), and cutaneous candidiasis.
Pharmacology:
Clotrimazole is an imidazole derivative that works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption causes leakage of cell contents, leading to fungal cell death.
Dosage:
Apply a thin layer of ECOTRIM to the affected area 2 to 3 times daily or as directed by the physician. Duration of treatment may vary depending on the type and severity of infection.
Administration:
For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area before applying. Do not apply to eyes, mouth, or open wounds.
Interaction:
There are no significant systemic drug interactions as this is a topical preparation. However, avoid concurrent use with other topical agents unless directed.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Clotrimazole or any other component of the formulation.
Side Effects:
May include local irritation, redness, burning, itching, or stinging at the application site. Rarely, allergic reactions may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Generally considered safe during pregnancy and lactation when used topically in recommended doses. However, consult a physician before use.
Precautions & Warnings:

Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes.
