Indications:
Indicated for the relief of painful symptoms of excess gas in the stomach and intestines such as bloating, pressure, and discomfort in infants and children.
Pharmacology:
Simethicone is an anti-foaming agent that helps reduce bloating, discomfort or pain caused by excessive gas. It breaks up gas bubbles in the gut and allows them to be passed more easily.
Dosage:
Infants: 0.3 mL to 0.6 mL (20-40 mg) four times daily, preferably after meals and at bedtime or as directed by a physician. Do not exceed recommended dosage.
Administration:
Shake well before use. Administer directly into the mouth using the dropper or mix with water or formula.
Interaction:
No significant drug interactions have been reported. Simethicone is not absorbed into the bloodstream.
Contraindications:
Known hypersensitivity to Simethicone or any ingredient of the formulation.
Side Effects:
Generally well tolerated. Rarely, allergic reactions may occur such as rash or itching.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Though not applicable to infants, simethicone is considered safe during pregnancy and lactation when used as advised.
Precautions & Warnings:
Keep out of reach of children. Use only under medical supervision in infants. Ensure accurate dosing.
