Indications:
Onriva Trio is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and otitis media caused by susceptible bacteria.
Pharmacology:
This combination capsule contains:
Amoxicillin: a penicillin antibiotic inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.
Clavulanate potassium: a beta-lactamase inhibitor preventing resistance by blocking bacterial enzymes.
Cefixime: a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that interferes with bacterial cell wall synthesis.
Together, these agents provide a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect.
Dosage:
Usually taken orally twice daily or as prescribed by the physician. Dosage depends on the infection severity and patient condition.
Administration:
Take with or without food. Complete the entire prescribed course even if symptoms improve to avoid resistance.
Interaction:
May interact with other antibiotics, oral anticoagulants, and some other drugs. Inform your doctor about all current medications.
Contraindications:
Not recommended for patients allergic to penicillins, cephalosporins, or clavulanate. Use caution in patients with hepatic or renal impairment.
Side Effects:
