Indications:
Opanac eye drops are indicated for relief of eye inflammation and pain following ocular surgery, trauma, or other inflammatory conditions of the eye.
Pharmacology:
Contains ketorolac tromethamine, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis, thereby decreasing inflammation and pain.
Dosage:
Typically, 1 drop into the affected eye every 6 to 8 hours, or as prescribed by the physician.
Administration:
Wash hands before use. Instill drops into the conjunctival sac without touching the dropper tip to the eye or eyelid.
Interaction:
Use with caution when combined with other NSAID eye drops or systemic NSAIDs. Inform your doctor about all current medications.
Contraindications:
Not to be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to ketorolac or other NSAIDs. Avoid use in patients with active eye infections unless prescribed.
Side Effects:
Possible side effects include eye burning, stinging, redness, blurred vision, or headache.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and prescribed. Consult your healthcare provider before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings:
Avoid contamination of the dropper tip. Discontinue use and consult a doctor if eye irritation or allergic reaction occurs.
