AXODIN 180MG Tablet is indicated for:
Relief of symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis, including nasal congestion, sneezing, and itchy eyes or throat.
Treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives), reducing itching and lesion size.
Pharmacology:
AXODIN contains Fexofenadine Hydrochloride, a selective, non-sedating H1 receptor antagonist.
It blocks peripheral histamine H1-receptors, minimizing allergic response symptoms without causing drowsiness.
Dosage & Administration:
Adults and children (12 years and older): One tablet (180 mg) once daily with water.
Should be taken on an empty stomach for optimal absorption.
Interaction:
Avoid co-administration with antacids containing aluminum or magnesium within 2 hours of taking AXODIN, as it may reduce drug absorption.
Use cautiously with other antihistamines or CNS depressants.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Fexofenadine or any excipient of the formulation.
Side Effects:
Common: Headache, nausea, fatigue, dizziness.
Rare: Skin rash, gastrointestinal discomfort, dry mouth.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Pregnancy: Limited data; use only if clearly necessary under medical supervision (Category C).
Lactation: Consult a physician before use, as it may pass into breast milk.
Precautions & Warnings:
Not recommended for patients with severe renal impairment without proper dosage adjustment.
Discontinue if severe hypersensitivity reactions occur.
