Zolax 0.25MG Tablet is indicated for:
Management of mild generalized anxiety disorders (GAD).
Short-term relief of anxiety symptoms.
Adjunct therapy for transient anxiety related to stress.
Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine that acts on the central nervous system by potentiating the effect of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), resulting in sedative, anxiolytic, and muscle-relaxant effects.
Starting dose: 0.25 mg two to three times daily.
Dosage should be adjusted gradually under the guidance of a physician.
Maximum dose: 4 mg/day for anxiety or as directed by a healthcare provider.
Avoid alcohol and other CNS depressants during treatment.
Potential interactions with CYP3A4 inhibitors like ketoconazole and itraconazole.
Concurrent use with opioids may increase the risk of sedation or respiratory depression.
Hypersensitivity to Alprazolam or any benzodiazepines.
Patients with severe respiratory insufficiency or acute narrow-angle glaucoma.
Not recommended during pregnancy or lactation.
Common: Drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, dry mouth.
Rare: Cognitive impairment, dependence, and withdrawal symptoms.
Classified as Pregnancy Category D; not advised for use during pregnancy.
Avoid during breastfeeding as it may affect the infant.
Long-term use may lead to dependence and tolerance.
Avoid abrupt discontinuation to prevent withdrawal symptoms.
Use with caution in elderly or debilitated patients.
