Indications:
DIAPRO 80MG is indicated for improving glycemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, either as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents including metformin or insulin.
Pharmacology:
DIAPRO contains Sitagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. Sitagliptin works by increasing the levels of incretin hormones, which increase insulin release and decrease glucagon levels in the blood in a glucose-dependent manner, helping to regulate blood sugar levels.
Dosage:

Adults: 80 mg once daily, with or without food.

Dosage adjustments may be needed in patients with renal impairment as per physician’s advice.
Administration:
Oral administration with water. Should be taken at the same time each day for optimal effect.
Interaction:
May interact with other antidiabetic drugs, especially insulin or sulfonylureas, increasing risk of hypoglycemia. Dose adjustments may be necessary.
Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Sitagliptin or any component of the formulation.

Not indicated for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include headache, nasopharyngitis, upper respiratory tract infection, and gastrointestinal discomfort. Rarely, pancreatitis or hypersensitivity reactions may occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed and prescribed. Safety in breastfeeding is not well established; consult physician.
